Robert Martin, who likes to go by Bobby, is the founder and craftsman behind TheSkapoos’ Workshop. From a young age, he developed hands-on experience working with wire EDM and CNC machines, skills he has continued to refine throughout his life. By the age of 24, his passion for precision, creativity, and innovation had grown into a vision: to build a business where his technical expertise and artistic drive could come together.
That vision became TheSkapoos’ Workshop, where Robert designs and handcrafts unique weaponry-inspired pendants. His work reflects not only years of technical knowledge, but also a deep dedication to quality, detail, and originality. Every piece is a testament to his craft—and a symbol of his commitment to creating designs that are as bold and distinctive as the people who wear them.
WHAT INSPIRED THIS BUSINESS?
The inspiration for TheSkapoos’ Workshop came from the many passions that shaped Robert Martin’s life. His early experience with wire EDM and CNC machines gave him an appreciation for precision and detail, while his love for video games sparked his imagination and deepened his interest in weaponry-inspired designs.
Beyond the craft itself, Robert was motivated by a desire to build something lasting—a business that not only showcased his skills but also created a community for people who shared his interests. He wanted his work to be more than just accessories; he wanted it to be a way for people to connect through creativity and shared passions.
The idea became even clearer through personal experience.
When Robert set out to find high-quality, weaponry pendants for himself, he was disappointed by the lack of options. Rather than settle, he decided to create the designs he had always envisioned. WHY “THESKAPOOS”?
What Does it Mean?
The name TheSkapoos is a tribute to Robert Martin’s family history. When his relatives first immigrated from Norway to the United States nearly a century ago, their last name was originally much different—spelled in a traditional Nordic way. Because it was considered “too complicated,” it was changed to Martin for simplicity.
By using the name Skapoos, spelled the way it was pronounced, Robert honors his Nordic roots and carries forward the family name that was once left behind. TheSkapoos’ Workshop is not just about creating unique pendants—it’s about celebrating heritage, creativity, and the stories that shape who we are.

Alexis is both Bobby’s partner in life and his partner in business. She brings the creative vision that shapes much of TheSkapoos’ Workshop beyond the pendants themselves. From designing the website and packaging to connecting with customers and helping share the brand’s story, Alexis ensures that every detail feels thoughtful and true to the community they are building together.
